From the 30^th of December to the 3^rd  of January, Orvieto will host the famous Umbria Jazz Winter.

During the Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve those concerts will animate the  city of Orvieto offering visitors the possibility to take part to a great show and to celebrate the New Year's Day in a wonderful musical setting!

During  the Umbria Jazz Winter, Orvieto becomes an important musical city offering high quality music with many famous jazz artists.

On Christmas holidays many Umbrian towns offer concerts in their churches and theatres.
Starting from the 8th of December, Paciano hosts the “Soul Christmas 2009”- Umbria Gospel Festival in the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta. This musical event will performed also in other Umbrian cities as Tuoro sul Trasimeno (25th December), Città della Pieve (26th December), Magione (27th December), Pietrafitta (28th December), Panicale (29th December), Passignano sul Trasimeno (30th December) and Castiglione del Lago (31st of December).

On the 6th and 7th of December 2009 Todi has to host the Chapandaz Trekking, offering his partecipants the possibility to spend two days on horseback in Umbria.

The Chapandaz Trekking will take place in Todi, a beautiful city in the middle of Umbria. This event is sponsored by “Tashunka” and “El Mansur” and it turns to 18 knights ANTE card-carrying with their own horses having the regular passports and COGGINS.

The Nativity Scene is an Italian tradition to celebrate the Jesus birth. Usually, every Italian family prepare his own nativity scene in his house on the 8^th of December, the day of The Immaculate Conception.

The nativity scene is often placed near the Christmas tree and it always includes the manger with Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Joseph, the ox and the burro. Other nativity scenes also include a rich scenery of shepherds and other characters, animals and sheeps, wells and trees: a real enchanting setting!

A lot of Italian towns prepare their streets, churches and structures with the traditional nativity scenes. In Umbria there are four towns that realize beautiful ones during the Christmas Holidays.
