Nativity sceneThe Nativity Scene is an Italian tradition to celebrate the Jesus birth. Usually, every Italian family prepare his own nativity scene in his house on the 8th of December, the day of The Immaculate Conception.

The nativity scene is often placed near the Christmas tree and it always includes the manger with Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Joseph, the ox and the burro. Other nativity scenes also include a rich scenery of shepherds and other characters, animals and sheeps, wells and trees: a real enchanting setting!

A lot of Italian towns prepare their streets, churches and structures with the traditional nativity scenes. In Umbria there are four towns that realize beautiful ones during the Christmas Holidays.
