We have created 1, 3 or 5 day Culinary Package Deals, tasting, exploring and touring Umbria.

Imagine spending a week with your friends and family at a medieval castle enjoying a unique culinary adventure each day surrounded by the beauty that makes Umbria famous.

We are pleased to offer our guests unique gourmet culinary packages featuring all the highlights of umbrian wines, cooking traditions and organic products.

Available in 1, 3 and 5 day packages, your culinary experience will include:

• Umbrian cooking demonstrations


• Wine tastings and vineyard tours


• Pasta and cheese making classes


• Truffle hunting and tasting


• Visits to local organic farms


• Child friendly activities

Cost of one day package: 200 euros per person

Cost of three day package: 300 euros per person

Cost of five day package: 550 euros per person

Price includes activities, transportation, meals and all wines served

Your Culinary Schedule

Cooking classes and demonstrations are led by the owner of TodiCastle Estate, Mario Santoro accompanied by local food and wine experts. A casual lunch or dinner follows where guests can enjoy the fruits of their labor and conversation with our local experts.

Monday

Morning program with Lunch

Visit the Giuliani cheese farm with demonstrations how to make pecorino, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. Toasted bread with many different cheeses accompanied by umbrian wines. This program includes a guided tour of the farm to see animals, a recommended child's activity.

Afternoon program with dinner

Cooking class at the Castle – how to prepare risotto – This is Mario's specialty, a true Italian experience ! Followed by barbecue party. Grilled meats: cinta senese breed pork steaks, ribs and sausages, grilled vegetables and bruschettas served with Umbrian wines.

Tuesday

Morning program with light lunch

Visit to a local wine producer. Explore the vineyards and visit the wine caves. Followed by wine tasting with finger food.

Afternoon program with dinner

Learn how to make pasta. Fettuccine, Lasagne, Cannelloni and other delicious pasta specialities. Different seasonal dressings will be prepared to create a complete pasta based meal. When you return home you will be able to make your own pasta !

Wednesday

Morning program with light lunch

Truffle hunting! Presentation on the different types of truffles followed by truffle hunting in our local woods. How to find and pick truffles with the help of dog. Children will love it. Truffle tasting with finger foods and local wines. Learn how to fully understand and appreciate the perfume and taste of this delicacy. Wine to accompany the truffles will be served. Dinner in the Medieval Banquet room at the Castle with seasonal ingredients and medieval recipes.

Thursday

Morning program with light lunch

Visit the farmers market followed by a tour of a local historic hotel of Umbria – lunch at their restaurant.

Afternoon program with dinner

Olive oil tasting. Umbria probably has the best olive oil in all of Italy. The tasting will feature local recipes so you can fully appreciate the flavour of our olive oil and enjoy wines to complement the perfumes.

Friday

Morning program with light lunch

Cooking lesson at the nearby village of Collelungo – learn how to prepare traditional Italian recipes for pasta courses, meats and vegetables. It will be an occasion to appreciate our local farmer’s wines.

Afternoon program with dinner

Wine tasting at the Castle directed by a sommelier. You will expand your knowledge of the most important wines of Umbria.

Pizza party at the Umbria Grill. Several different types of pizza will be prepared and cooked in our special wood oven. This activity is great for kids! The preceding represents activities planned for a 5 day package, subject to availability.

Guests who choose the 3-day package can enjoy activities listed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Guests who choose the 1-day package can select any of the days offered.

• The culinary package must be purchased by a minimum of 3 guests.


• Children under the age of 6 do not pay, but please advise us of any children when you book.


• In the event of an activity being cancelled due to bad weather or another circumstance, another activity will be subsituted.
